Oil Bath is a deep conditioning treatment that saturates your hair and scalp with nourishing oils. It’s a core function that restores lost lipids and seals the hair’s outer layer.

Think of it as a long, slow drink of water for parched hair. Most people miss this: the oil doesn’t just sit on top. It actually works to temporarily repair tiny gaps in your hair’s cuticle.

Why Your Hair Craves an Oil Bath

From My Experience

The biggest game-changer I’ve seen is timing. Most instructions say 30 minutes, but for truly transformative repair, I recommend a “micro-dosing” approach.

Apply a moderate amount of oil to damp (not wet) hair the night before wash day. Then, cover it with a satin bonnet and sleep on it.

This gives the oil 6-8 hours to slowly penetrate without the need for excessive heat caps. The heat from your scalp is enough. I’ve found this overnight method leads to better absorption and less greasy residue.
