• If you limit your use of high-heat tools to a maximum of 2-3 times per week.

• If your hair is already chemically processed from color, bleach, or relaxers.
• When your hair feels gummy, stretchy, or won’t hold any style, as these are signs of existing severe damage.
• If you are unwilling to invest in quality tools and protective products.

From My Experience

In my practice, I’ve developed a simple diagnostic test I call the “Sprout Test.” Take a single strand of hair from your brush after you’ve heat-styled. Drop it into a glass of water. If it sinks immediately, it’s severely porous and damaged from heat, having lost its ability to repel water.
