Think of your hair’s cuticle like roof shingles. At these shows, stylists are essentially lifting every shingle to reshape the roof beneath. I consistently advise my patients that while these looks are stunning, the backstage methods are not a sustainable hair care routine. The constant restructuring of hair bonds leads to long-term fragility.

Many of the innovative serums and treatments you see launched each year are first tested under the intense conditions of Hair Fashion Week. This is where I see a disconnect. The products that work for a model getting her hair styled and restyled ten times in two days might be too heavy or protein-rich for your weekly routine.
