Most people miss this: the electronic structure is why your natural hair color can fade in the sun, even without any bleach applied. It’s the silent conductor of every chemical service you get.

How Electronic Structure Dictates Your Hair Color

Your hair’s natural pigment, melanin, has a specific electronic structure that absorbs and reflects light. This creates the color you see. Darker eumelanin and lighter pheomelanin have different electron arrangements.

When you color your hair, the dye’s molecules must interact with this structure. I see color fade faster in clients who swim often because pool chemicals alter the electron balance, pushing the color molecules out.

The Electronic Structure Surprise During Bleaching
