What is Dusting?

Dusting is a hair trimming technique that removes only the most damaged ends of the hair. It focuses on snipping off split ends and microscopic frays without sacrificing your overall hair length. Most people miss this: a proper dusting session can remove up to 90% of visible split ends without cutting off any noticeable length.

I see this as the single most effective way to halt damage in its tracks. Think of it like pruning a plant; you’re just removing the dead parts so the rest can thrive.

Why Dusting Stops the Split End Zipper
