Most people miss this: The line isn’t just a color change. It’s a structural fault line where two different porosities and protein integrities meet. This mismatch is why the line feels so different and can snap easily.

Why the Demarcation Line Weakens Your Hair

Think of your hair strand like a rope. Virgin hair is a strong, uniform rope. Chemically treated hair is a frayed, weaker section of that same rope. The demarcation line is the knot tying these two different ropes together.
