What is Chignon?

Chignon is a hairstyle that gathers hair into a knot or bun at the nape of the neck or base of the head. It secures hair away from the face using pins, clips, or ties. Surprisingly, ancient Greek athletes used early chignons to keep hair secure during Olympic competitions.
