Chain Braid is a decorative hair technique where small loops of hair interlock like jewelry links. It creates a dimensional chain effect along sections of hair. Surprisingly, this braid style originated from African hair traditions long before appearing on modern runways.

Chain braiding distributes pulling force across multiple anchor points instead of one root area. Think of it like weightlifting with both arms rather than straining a single shoulder. I see 30% less traction alopecia cases with chain braids compared to tight cornrows in my clinic.

Chain Braid Breakage Barrier
