What is Arrhenius Equation?

Arrhenius Equation is a scientific formula that predicts how temperature changes affect chemical reaction speeds. It explains why heat treatments like coloring or relaxing happen faster under heat lamps or dryers. Most miss this: A 10°C jump can double processing speed – that’s why leaving bleach too long under heat causes meltdowns.

Why Heat Explodes Hair Damage

The Arrhenius Equation shows heat energizes molecules to collide faster. Think of cold syrup pouring slowly versus hot syrup gushing – heat makes chemicals react quicker inside your hair shaft. I see this when clients use hot tools daily: their chemical damage accumulates exponentially, not linearly.

Every 10°C increase doubles reaction rates per this equation. That flat iron at 200°C works 4x faster than one at 180°C on keratin bonds. Never combine high-porosity hair with high heat – causes snap fractures in my clinic.

The Cold Perm Surprise
